Customised Web Maps & Web Applications

As well as Location Centre Web Maps, we are increasingly delivering a range of customised web maps and interactive web mapping applications using the underlying Location Centre technical platform.

Customised web maps and web mapping applications include all the benefits of our managed services, making it easy to deploy, access and share information while reducing the risks and costs involved.

Customised web maps provide a high degree of flexibility and suit a wide range of business needs from the interactive presentation of business information, to online fault reporting and public consultation work using interactive maps.

Customised web mapping applications provide you with a complete online business solution. We work closely with our customers to understand their business requirements and expected outcomes. We use an agile development process and collaborate closely with our customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Recent examples include the delivery of an innovative Online Notification Management System for Millar & Bryce and a Geospatial Data Application for the British Library.

The Notification Management system automates a complete workflow process and brings together land and property ownership information; environmental data; mapping; and other location-based information from a wide range of stakeholders - see Case Study.

The Geospatial Data Application for the Legal Deposit Libraries provides an innovative map viewer that accesses large scale digital mapping covering the period from 1996 to the present day. The map viewer offers a range of standard query, view and print capabilities as well as the ability to compare maps from different epochs.

A bespoke metadata management module allowing input, edit and export of metadata is included. Metadata is stored in a US Library of Congress format known as MARC 21 format (Machine-Readable Cataloguing) and records can be exported to a number of bibliographic formats including MARC, MarcXML and MODS (Metadata Object Description Schema).
