Your business systems may be able to consume data via Web Services using Open Geospatial Consortium data standards (OGC). We adopt the OGC standards for Web Feature Services (WFS), Web Mapping Services (WMS) and Web Mapping tile Services (WMTS) through our deployment of GeoServer and GeoWebcache.
The benefit of consuming data in this way means you have no local overheads relating to processing, storing or maintaining data. Data is simply streamed to your and you will receive access to current and consistent map data.
We maintain a national datastore of all Ordnance Survey map data and an increasing range of other third party geographic datasets and can provide standardised or custom web services to stream this data to your business systems.
We have extensive experience in the development, publication and integration of WMS. Within our Location Centre web GIS products we serve and consume the OGC WMS web services to provide the digital map data via the client applications.
As well as having extensive knowledge and experience of the OGC web services, we have led numerous projects and work packages involving the publication and integration of OGC WMS with other business systems including:
WFS in QGIS
WMS in ArcGIS
